ISO Container
ISO containers, often called standard containers, are freight containers certified according to ISO standards for transport by sea, road or rail. The most widespread models are the 20 or 40 foot long containers. What all ISO containers have in common are the standardised dimensions and fastening options, so that a rapid transshipment between modes of transport is guaranteed at all times.
The selection of the appropriate container depends on the volume and the type of the load. Therefore, apart from the standard containers, special models also exist, such as reefer containers, tank containers, bulk-goods containers or containers for heavy-load transport, and many other variants.
Container management for own and external containers is integrated in Soloplan’s air and sea freight module CarLo inAIR&SEA. The module includes, for example, container depots, container master data and container tracking.
