Containers
Containers are one of the most common means of transport in logistics. They are standardised large-capacity containers for transporting goods that exist in different sizes, depending on the purpose. Due to the standardised measurements, containers are mainly used in sea freight, but also on other modes of transport such as rail or road.
The common sizes for shipping containers are 20- or 40-foot ISO-1 containers. Furthermore, open containers exist that are, for example, used for removing goods with a truck.
With the container management integrated in our air and sea freight software CarLo inAIR&SEA, you can handle both your own containers and the organisation of external containers. The functions include: container tracking, temperature monitoring, maintenance of container master data (container type, number, measurements, etc.), transport planning including container depots and many more.
