Full Load
The term refers to goods that are picked up from a shipper for transport and transported to a receiver without transshipment on a means of transport. As opposed to a so-called partial load, a full load fills out the means of transport completely; thus, no other goods have room.
Synonyms are FTL (Full Truck Load) for transports by truck and FCL (Full Container Load) for transports in containers.
For forwarding companies, full loads have the advantage that they are easier to plan than partial loads, as no interim storage or additional loading and unloading stops are necessary. The goods are brought directly from the sender to the receiver.
