Freight Documents
Freight documents are documents and papers of all kinds that accompany goods during the entire transport. They serve to identify and ensure proper handling of the goods. The type of freight document varies depending on the shipment mode and the transport route, which is why not all types of freight documents are necessarily required or even valid for a transport of goods.
The term freight document includes, for example, waybills (CMR, bill of lading, air waybill), invoices, packing lists, loading lists, manifests, customs documents, certificates of origin, tariff preference certificates, dangerous goods sheets and many more.
