The cooperation with the University of Kempten–a success story!
You would like to study business administration in combination with computer science and then make it to the top as quickly as possible?
The partnership between the University of Kempten and Soloplan offers countless opportunities for anyone pursuing precisely these or similar goals. Since as early as 2005, the university and THE software company of the logistics sector have been working on different projects together successfully.
That is why it is no surprise that many software developers graduated from the “University in the Alps” in Kempten before starting their career at Soloplan–the leading logistics software manufacturer. As a medium-sized family-run company with around 210 employees, Soloplan develops and sells the CarLo product family, a flexible premium software that can be used intuitively to efficiently handle any tasks that have to do with transport management. Due to the company’s continuous growth, they moved into their new headquarters, “Soloplan City” in Kempten, in May 2019. With state-of-the-art working places and a pleasant working environment, Soloplan offers an optimal development outlook for university graduates–whether in Germany, in Kempten and Dresden, or in the international branch offices in Poland, France and South Africa.
The cooperation with the university is by now indispensable for research purposes as well. Just recently, students of the faculty of computer science were able to present the most recent results of a research project on the topic of “Work 4.0–the use of augmented reality in the logistics sector” in cooperation with Soloplan’s development department. You can see HERE which tasks the students complete in their current project and which innovative functions they were able to present during the last presentation. Many more research projects with respect to the combination of logistics and computer science have already been carried out and completed in the past.
Another central aspect of the cooperation is the Innovation Lab at the university, which was opened last autumn and where, since then, students have been researching innovative technologies and solutions for the progressing digitalisation in the logistics sector.
Within the scope of the cooperation, Soloplan also offers students the possibility of completing their fifth semester–which is a practical semester providing students with knowledge of the real working world–directly at the company headquarters in Kempten.
In total, the full-time business informatics course, which can be completed with a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree in Kempten, takes seven semesters.
