Soloplan supports project of University of Economics in Katowice
As part of the BWGiA project conducted by the University of Economics in Katowice, students of the faculties of logistics, management and economic sciences examined the sustainable development of the university. This examination took place from April to June. The project was launched back in 2014. This year’s topic was the simulation of real problems in companies. The students were asked to develop suitable solutions.
They were divided into two groups. The first group created an educational game in the field of communication. The second group focused on the Internet of Things, which describes the increasing interconnection between “intelligent” objects among themselves and the connection of those objects with the Internet.
The groups were supported by their mentors Dr. Piotr Hanus and Dr. Krzysztof Niestroj who also answered any of the students’ content-related questions.
The results were evaluated by company representatives and experts during a final presentation. The three main evaluation criteria – innovation, applicability and presentation – played a decisive role. The branch manager of Soloplan Polska and the team leader of software development in Poland represented Soloplan as members of the jury.
According to the jury, the results were positive throughout. All experts found that the solutions developed by the students have a lot of potential.
We would like to thank the University of Economics in Katowice for allowing us to participate in such a great project and we hope that we can support the students in further innovative projects.
