Open day at Soloplan attracts more than 900 visitors
In the course of the preparations for the celebration of the 30-year company anniversary of Soloplan, there was one central question:
What makes a nice summer party?
The sun? Delicious food and drinks? Many visitors? Good mood? A varied programme?
Looking back, we can now say: YES! All of that and much more was provided on the Soloplan company premises on Saturday, 22 June 2024.
After a short welcoming speech by Soloplan’s management, the open day started with a hearty morning pint accompanied by the Wertachtaler Alphornbläser (a group of Alphorn players) and a Bavarian band from Ottacker.
Four stands of the Soloplan branch offices in Dresden (Germany), Spain, Poland and South Africa informed visitors about country-specific peculiarities as well as fun facts and offered regional specialities. Many guests talked to the international colleagues and told them about their own trips to the respective countries.
Moreover, the visitors could participate in guided tours through the software company’s office building and its various rooms. Most of the guests particularly enjoyed the roof terrace with its view of the mountain Grünten.
Food trucks as well as two refreshment stands catered for the physical well-being. A wide range of food was offered: pasta from the parmesan wheel, fresh pizza, thai curry, burgers, hot dogs and fries as well as bubble waffles. As a particularly nice gesture, each guest received a voucher for a free food and a free drink when entering the premises.
During several presentations, the visitors could learn more about what a transport management system (TMS) is, what it serves for and which functions it comprises. In personal conversations and short presentations at the stand of the HR department, those interested were also given information about apprenticeships at Soloplan as well as about Soloplan as an employer in general.
The comprehensive children’s programme included a 11 x 11 metres bungee trampoline, a painting competition, a digital scavenger hunt as well as Punch and Judy shows. In addition, young and old guests had the opportunity to visit a truck cab. All of that made the children’s eyes shine.
Also, programming courses for beginners were held where the visitors could get an insight into the basics of software development.
In summary, we can say that the wide range of entertainment and information provided was very well accepted. Throughout the day, more than 900 visitors came to the festively decorated premises.
For all those who were not able to attend in person, we have collected some impressions of this great day below. Furthermore, you can already keep free the penultimate weekend in June 2034 when we will celebrate the 40th anniversary!
