A successful step towards digitalisation for GTI Logistik!

The logistics company “GTI” is located a short distance behind the border between Germany and Poland near the city of Szczecin. For more than ten years, the medium-sized company has specialised in volume transports of any kind across almost all of Europe. In 2016, they then decided to take a step towards digitalisation and found an experienced partner in Soloplan and their transport management system. Located in southern Germany, Soloplan, with its now 30 years of experience, is one of the market leaders in the field of logistics software.

The forwarding company was looking to simplify and digitalise its entire day-to-day business to allow for a more structured process. Therefore, in 2016, they opted for Soloplan “We heard about CarLo® from one of our customers and after a short consultation meeting in which were able to look at the program and have it explained to us, we decided to implement CarLo® in our company.”

One of the special aspects of GTI-Logistik during implementation was the interface to Trimble and Transporeon; CarLo® is an interoperable tool that allows easy access to both programmes. Furthermore, the dispatchers were freed from many manual tasks and can now look after 50% more trucks.

“What convinced us the most was the automation of order processing:
For example: Transporeon sends us a load or we are forwarded it, this order is automatically loaded into CarLo®, the details of this order are sent to the driver via Trimble, where it is automatically converted into a loading order, then the route is automatically calculated and entered into the navigation system. Once the goods are at the customer, the status message is updated and when unloading is complete, the status only needs to be changed in Transporeon. This minimises or avoids many errors that can occur with manual entry.”
