How CarLo® has optimised everyday work at Stahl-Express Franke GmbH
For 40 years, Stahl-Express Franke GmbH has been a flexible and reliable partner for both medium-sized and larger companies in the areas of steel and dangerous-goods transports. The owner-managed family business from Düsseldorf boasts a 30-truck fleet and many well-known customers. The consignment volume of Stahl-Express Franke has greatly increased in the last years and their fields of activity have expanded as well. At the same time, the workflows and structures that had been tried and tested for decades were very complicated and analogue; thus, orders often had to be “picked up” repeatedly.

Thanks to the logistics software Carlo® developed by Soloplan, the company from Düsseldorf has mastered this balancing act of digitalisation, saving time and connecting to existing systems with flying colours. A lot has happened since the go-live in early 2021: The complex requirements of Franke’s customers regarding calculation could be implemented in a practice-oriented manner. Another notable point is CarLo®’s intuitive user interface, which can be customised to match the requirements. Stahl-Express Franke also saw a great advantage in not being limited in their possibilities from the start, since the business areas and requirements are constantly in flux.

In the area of planning, the company records time savings of one hour per day due to the single creation of the consignment and the subsequent further use of the data (e.g. freight exchange, transfer of orders to drivers and carriers, lists for calculation and sharing of data with other employees).
