Probably the most exciting process of transport operations: intermodal transport. In this process, goods are transported in one loading unit, such as a container, across two or more modes of transport. Here, only the loading unit is handled, but not the transported goods themselves. Intermodal transport thus combines all the advantages of different modes of transport in one transport chain.
